About the course
This course is tailored for individuals working with and supporting Pacific communities in training, advisory, or support roles. It offers a Pacific perspective on nutrition and health, covering lifestyle diseases and every life stage, from birth to older adulthood.
Course structure
The course is delivered in three parts over a nine-week period at the Heart Foundation in Ellerslie, Auckland.
Each part includes:
- Two in-person sessions held on a Thursday, from 9:30am to 3:30pm.
- One study week for self-directed learning and activities.
Eligibility requirements
To participate in this course, applicants must:
1. Complete the online Heart Foundation registration.
2. Complete the online AUT enrolment.
3. Provide certified proof of eligibility to study in New Zealand (e.g., NZ Citizenship or Permanent Residency).
4. Pay the course fee of $150 per person (heavily subsidised by Te Whatu Ora, subject to meeting enrolment criteria).
5. Attend all in-person sessions.
6. Actively participate in learning activities, discussions, and group work.
7. Complete all self-directed online readings, activities, and assessments.
