About the course
This course is tailored for individuals working with and supporting Pacific communities in training, advisory or support roles. It offers a Pacific perspective on nutrition and health, covering lifestyle diseases and every life stage, from birth to older adulthood.
Course structure
The course is delivered in a hybrid format over a 12-week period, with three in-person sessions in Ellerslie, Auckland, and nine online sessions via Zoom.
The course format:
- In-person sessions are on a Thursday from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
- Online sessions via Zoom are on a Wednesday from 6.00pm to 7.30pm.
- Self-directed learning and activities.
Eligibility requirements
To participate in this course, applicants must:
- complete the online Heart Foundation registration form below
- complete the online AUT enrolment
- provide proof of eligibility to study in New Zealand, certified by a Justice of the Peace (e.g. New Zealand Citizenship or Permanent Residency)
- pay the course fee of $150 per person, once the enrolment is completed and approved (this is a subsidised course fee by Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, if you meet the enrolment criteria)
- attend all in-person and online sessions
- actively participate in learning activities, discussions and group work
- complete all self-directed learning, including online readings, activities and assessments.
